Exposed!! Gov’t Printing NDC T-Shirts For Demo Against Galamsey Ban Lift
Information reaching the Ghaniandemocrat.com from an undisclosed source has it that some top government officials are currently planning to use National Democratic Congress (NDC) printed T-shirts to embark on a massive demonstration to register a false displeasure over the ban lifting on illegal mining also known as galamsey.
According to the source, the motive behind the act and the subsequent demonstration is to sabotage and redirect the anger of the people within the affected mining communities to the opposition NDC.
The information further reveals that the NDC T-shirt will be distributed to some group of people who will be bused from various regions across the country to some mining communities ahead of the ban lifting on Small Scale Mining in the first week of December this year.
In January 2017, the Akuffo Addo led administration placed a ban on small scale mining for a six month period.
The ban however was extended in October 2017, for another three months, which ended in January this year.
The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. John Peter Amewu however at an awards ceremony by the Bureau of Research, Governance, Commerce and Administration, in his speech extended the ban again after a claim that small scale miners have failed to meet the target set for them to have it reviewed.
The Minister again indicated that, his outfit will maintain the moratorium on small scale mining until it was convinced that, illegal mining, also known as “galamsey” has been completely abolished.
