The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has officially scheduled December 30, 2025, for the rerun of the Parliamentary Election in the Kpandai Constituency, following a directive from the Tamale High Court and a formal notice from Parliament declaring the seat vacant.
In a statement released on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, the EC explained that the decision stems from a ruling delivered by the Tamale High Court on November 24, 2025, ordering a fresh election within 30 days.
This directive was further reinforced by a letter from the Clerk to Parliament on December 9, confirming that the Kpandai seat had been declared vacant.
According to the Commission, only the three candidates who contested the 2024 Parliamentary Election in the constituency will take part in the rerun, in line with electoral regulations. The statement was signed by Fred Tetteh, Deputy Director of the EC’s Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Department.
The EC expressed gratitude to the public and urged all stakeholders to support efforts toward ensuring a peaceful, transparent and credible electoral process.
