EC, NPP Polling Agents Unlawfully Ceasing Voter Cards of Voltarian
The Electoral Commission of Ghana in collaboration with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have adopted strategy to deny some lawfully registered voters of their cards in the name of challenging their nationality.
This has come to light when one Frank Kwoffie, a resident of labone in the La Dadekotopon Municipality of the Greater Accra Region went to the Rangoon school registration center to register for his voter ID card could not be given his card back after going through the process and had his card over to him.
Mr. Frank Kwoffie after receiving his card had to be called back to the center for the EC Officials to take his card back in the name of challenge from an unknown person.
The applicant was shocked at the way and manner his was called back to bring his card after he had registered and left the center.
He therefore demanded to know the one challenging his nationality but the EC Officials refused his request saying he is a Togolese because he bears Ewe name.
Meanwhile, it it gathered that the one challenging to he applicant was not part of the assigned party agents but a known NPP supporter who hails from Akropong in the Eastern Region.
Efforts from top security personnel and Chief who confirmed the applicant nationality as a Ghanaian and hails from Hoehoe in the Volta Region proved futile as the EC is demanding more evidence from Frank Kwoffie.
Mr. Frank Kwoffie, who had no Ghana card or passport had his boss one Madam Pamela guaranteeing for him.
Ghanaiandemocrat.com has gathered that most of voltarians registering in Accra encountering same problems as the NPP agents are burnt on denying them their constitutional rights to be registered to vote in the upcoming general elections.
