The Domeabra–Obom Constituency has recorded a major infrastructure milestone with the successful sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of a 10-kilometre road network linking Ashalaja through Hobor to Nsuabri, and Obom Junction to Obom.
The event, which attracted party executives, traditional leaders and residents, was made possible through the leadership and commitment of the Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Isaac Awuku Yibor and the Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Ocansey Kubi, who have consistently championed improved road infrastructure for the constituency.
The sod-cutting was performed by the Urban Roads Engineer, Ing. Sowah, on behalf of the Minister for Roads, Mr. Governs Kwame Agbodza, marking the official commencement of the long-awaited project.

Constituency Executives, led by the Vice Constituency Chairman, Dr. Abbeam Danso, played a key coordinating role in ensuring the success of the ceremony, which many described as historic for the area. Their efforts were complemented by the active participation of Branch Executives, Ward Coordinators and Assembly Members, who turned out in large numbers to support the programme.
Traditional Chiefs and the Queen Mother of the area also graced the occasion, lending their moral authority and unwavering support to the development agenda of the constituency.
Speaking at the event, stakeholders reiterated that the road project is of immense socio-economic importance to the people. When completed, the roads are expected to ease the transportation of farm produce to market centres, improve inter-community connectivity, reduce travel time, and significantly boost economic activities across the Domeabra–Obom area.
Residents expressed appreciation to the MP and the MCE for honouring their commitment to the constituency, noting that the sod-cutting is a clear demonstration of leadership translating promises into tangible development.
The Domeabra–Obom Constituency, they said, looks forward to the timely completion of the project as part of broader efforts to accelerate growth and improve the quality of life for its people.
