Confusion Rocks Ayawaso East Assembly Inuaguration

…Attempt to Increase Govt Appointees Backfires

The inaugural ceremony of the newly elected Assembly members at the Ayawaso East Municipal Assembly has brought to a standstill due to an attempt by the members of the ruling New Patriotic Party NPP to increase government appointees from 3.9 ( approximately 4) to 6.

Assembly members became alarmed of the illegality the Municipal Chief Executive, MCE Hajia Salma Mohammed Sani wants by snicking in additional 6 government appointees instead of 4.

The uneasy situation has made some opinion leaders and top security personnel in the Municipality appear stranded.

Currently, Assembly members have boycotted the inaugural ceremony demanding for the rught thing to be done and not the usual NPP mafia to take what does not belong to them.

The Minister of Environmental, Science and Technology, Hon. Prof. Frimpong Boateng who is seating in for the President Akufo-Addo could not find it easy to calm the situation.

The Inuaguration has been postponed due.
