Banito Installed youth Chief at Okaiman
The Ga-Dangme Muslim Council (GMC) has installed, NiiGamufioOsumanu Lamptey, as the youth Chief of Okaiman in the Ga- Central Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
Also outdoored were NiiGamuAdallahDimson as Chief of Okaiman, NaaGamuZuweiraLankweiOsuman as Queen mother of Okaiman and NaaGamufioRukaiyaAmidu Lamptey as youth queen mother for Okaiman.
Speaking at the colourful ceremony of pomp and pageantry, the President of GMC, Sultan NiiNortey Caesar said the elders took the bold decision to install NiiGamufioOsumanu Lamptey who is popularly known as Benito because of his tremendous and vibrant support to the Okaiman youth.
He advised the youth of the area to shun negative vices and channel their energies and efforts into the development of their immediate communities and home.
Sultan NiiNortey Caesar asked the people of Okaiman to rally behind the newly installed chiefs and Queen mothersto promote the development of the area.
He further asked the Chiefs to lead the Ga-DangmeMuslims in contributing to the overall development of Okaiman, Greater Accra and Ghana, and also apply fairness and justice in the settlement of disputes.
Sultan NiiNortey Caesar charged them to bring all Muslims in the area to live in peace and harmony with other ethnics groups and be law abiding.
On his part, NiiGamufioOsumanu Lampteywho spoke on behalf of his colleagues expressed his appreciation to the elders of the GMC and people of Okaiman for the trust and confidence reposed in them.
He welcome his installation as the youth chief of Okaiman, adding that his target is to transform Okaiman through the active involvement of the youth.
He further urged the people and elders to rally behind them to uplift Okaiman.
NiiGamufioOsumanu Lamptey I promised to prioritise education in the area to ensure the socio-economic development of the area and the country in general.
He appealed to all to stay united, as well as show respect to the elders for the development of Okaiman.
Henceforth, the newly installed chiefs and Queen mothers would be presiding over the Ga-Dangme Muslim at Okaiman, stretching from Lapaz to Tabora, Israel and its surrounding areas.
The GaDangme Muslim Council is an institution of GaDangme indigenes of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.
