Aziz Futa Never Insulted The Zongos -Volta Regional Nasara Coordinator
According to the Volta Regional Nasara Coordinator for the ruling New Patriotic Party, Mr. Aliu Bashiru Sharubutu, his boss Mr. Aziz Futa never insulted or disrespected Zongo indigenes.
He explained that Mr. Aziz Futa who is the current National Nasara Coordinator only tried to encourage the Zongo youth to take advantage of the government’s Free Senior High school and other flagship programs.
The statement made by Mr. Aziz Futa at Koforidua which went viral on both mainstream and social media platforms respectively, incurred the wrath of the people especially NDC sympathizers who took advantage and lambasted Mr. Futa on various media platforms.
Mr. Sharubutu was responding to Mr. Ismaila Ali Horoya, the NDC’s Greater Accra Zongo Caucus Coordinator who issued a press statement to condemned Mr. Futa.
He pointed out that majority of Ghanaians who read or listened to Mr. Aziz Futa’s presentation that day , understood the importance of the statement made except those whose survival are tied to mischief, lies and propaganda.
He explained that Mr. Aziz Futa never meant to insult the Zongo youth with his statement but rather urged them to take full advantage of the flagship programs been rolled out by the government to help eradicate idleness and other social vices in our communities.
“It is unfortunate that the statement or presentation by Mr. Futa was misunderstood by the people from the other side.
“Mr. Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa actually reiterated the position of the re-awakened Zongo youth who are poised to elevate the status of Zongo from the shackles of poverty to the state of economic advancement and prosperity”.
” Thus, there will be no armed robbery, high rate of illiteracy, poverty and idleness in our Zongo communities” he further explained.
He pinpointed certain ugly incidents that occurred in the Zongo communities during the tenure of Mr. John Mahama which according to him augments Mr. Futa’s claims.
He mentioned that during the tenure of NDC, under”-Mr. John D. Mahama, an aide to the NDC 2 chairman of the Ashanti Region, Yaw Steve Obimpeh, Abdulai Hussein, also known as Migima was arrested on the 5th of January, 2015 with a sophisticated gun which was said to be rare in Ghana in connection with a number of car snatching and robberies in the region.

On February 16th, 2015 again, under NDC 2, residents of Top town, a suburb of Amanfrom near Kasoa in the Ga South Municipal Assembly of the Greater Accra Region did appealed to the then Inspector General of Police as a matter of urgency to deploy Joint Police-Military patrol teams to their community to save them from the hands of armed robbers.
Three armed robbery cases were subsequently recorded in one week in an operation involving seven houses which the residents aptly described as unprecedented because what they experienced have not had continuous day light and night robberies of such magnitude.

It is sad for my brother [Ismaila Horoya Ali) to sustain this trajectory of parasitic relationship of the NDC and our Zongo Communities in this country.
“You asserted that there are many scholars in the Zongo communities before the implementation of Free SHS to which I do agree but how many? he asked.
He therefore called on the Zongo Caucus Coordinator to join the jihad or holy war to ensure that all children of school going age take hold of the Free SHS and other flagship programs of the NPP government to liberate themselves and their respective communities.
