A political group that called itself ‘Concern NDC Members/Exodus 2020’ has urged the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to acknowledge its heroes and heroines.

In a statement issued in Accra, the Convenor of the Group, Shamsu Mohammed Sheihu stated that the NDC needs to take pragmatic steps to identify personalities who have sacrificed to sustain the party in various ways.

“We need to show recognition for their efforts in order to embolden them towards the crucial 2020 elections”, he charged.

On their own, the Concern NDC Members/Exodus 2020 commended a number of NDC Members of Parliament (MPs) and Party Commentators who serve as the rallying point when it comes to support mobilization for the party.

In the statement sent to The Hawk Newspaper, the Group lauded the tremendous contributions of Hon MPs like Isaac Adongo, Bolga Central; Muntaka Mubarak, Asawase; Dr. Kwabena Donkor, Pru East; former Communication Minister and Deputy, Dr. Omane Boamah and Felix Ofosu Kwakye, and also Sammy Gyamfi for holding the front for the party in recent times.

The statement explained that Felix Ofosu Kwakye has distinguished himself as a party communicator in defending the party with concrete, excellent and intellectual arguments by engaging the NPP at this tender age that calls for a commitment to sacrifice the future for the good of the party, the statement echoed.

In a related development, Shamsu Shaibu further acknowledged Dr. Kwabena Donkor, the former Minister for Power and the NDC MP for Pru East for his exceptional contributions to the development of the party.

He cited Dr. Donkor, who ended load shedding in 2015, as one of a few who facilitated the transportation of several NDC Campaign Groups, not only in his constituency, but across the country in the 2016 electioneering campaign.

He further disclosed that Dr. Donkor facilitated the acquisition of a new Ferry(Pantoon) in 2016 to help commuters between Yeji and Makango in the Northern Region, when the old ferry became obsolete and unvoyageable, causing a lot of inconveniences to travelers across the river.

He added that when the fisher folks in Yeji were in crisis, the Pru East Legislator single handedly facilitated the restoration of premix fuel supply through the Ministry of Fisheries and other stakeholders in the industry. “…..The relevance of this act found expression when the DCE and the Assembly member for the area (Pru East) took turns to acknowledge his (Dr Donkor) timely intervention in revamping the fishing industry in Yeji”, the Convenor disclosed.

I can now understand why the “Heroes Challenge” searchlight easily located him as one of the major contributors to the development of the NDC in recent times, he said.

“…..On the front of economic debate, we stand in ovation for Hon. Isaac Adongo who always exposes the Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamoud Bawumia as a novice in real time economics”, the Group Convenor stated.
