Accra Markets Erupt in Joy as Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang Visits

In an extraordinary display of enthusiasm, thousands of traders and residents brought the vibrant streets of Accra to a standstill, eager to catch a glimpse of Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, the esteemed running mate of John Dramani Mahama.

As Professor Opoku-Agyemang embarked on a tour of the city’s markets, she was mobbed by ardent supporters who affectionately hailed her as a ‘mother’ and a ‘game-changer’. The atmosphere was electric, with the crowd’s infectious energy palpable throughout.

At the iconic Makola Market, one of Accra’s busiest hubs, traders abandoned their stalls to welcome Professor Opoku-Agyemang with open arms. Accompanied by the former President and other senior National Democratic Congress (NDC) officials, she navigated the market with ease, shaking hands, exchanging warm greetings, and attentively listening to the concerns of the traders.

Similar scenes unfolded at the Kantamanto and Agbogbloshie markets, where Professor Opoku-Agyemang was greeted with thunderous applause and cheers. The traders, predominantly women, lavished praise on her for her humility, kindness, and unwavering dedication to the welfare of Ghanaians.

Many expressed heartfelt gratitude for the opportunities she created during her tenure as Minister for Education, citing the direct positive impact her policies had on their lives. Visibly moved by the outpouring of love and support, Professor Opoku-Agyemang thanked the traders for their warm reception and assured them that the NDC would continue to work tirelessly to improve their lives.
