ACCRA Girls Celebrate International Women’s Day with Empowering Event
Girls students marked International Women’s Day by hosting a motivational talk attended by over 50 female students from various schools. The event, facilitated by the Ghana Water Company, aimed to inspire and empower young girls.
Serena Kwakye-Mintah, General Manager of Ghana Water Bottling, emphasized the importance of addressing the gender inequality gap. She stated that the motivation behind organizing the event was to encourage greater efforts in this crucial area.
Solace Akomeah, Regional Communication Manager of Ghana Water Company, delivered an insightful talk on career opportunities within the organization. She urged the young audience to consider pursuing engineering careers and warned them to be cautious about valuing material possessions over their education and personal development.
The event was a significant step towards fostering ambition and resilience among young girls, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and break barriers in traditionally male-dominated fields.
