The Paramount Chief of Osu and President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, His Majesty Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI has received the German Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Christoph Retzlaff.

The visit by the German Ambassador and his entourage to the Osu Mantse palace on Monday, September 10th, this year, was to discussed the way forward in strengthening the relationship between the Osu Traditional Council and Germany Embassy.

Addressing his guest, Nii Kinka Dowuona VI revealed that his main priority is to educate all children of school going age in and around the Osu community.

This he added that the Osu educational committee formed under the Osu educational fund would help steer the affairs of education in the community which would make it possible to ensure good and quality education for the people of Osu.

According to him, he has also introduced various Award schemes to entice and encourage the young people to embrace the educational policies which includes Technical, Vocational training and Artisanship.

This he called on the German Ambassador to collaborate with the Osu Traditional council to promote education in the community as well help improve tourism to create jobs for the youth of Osu.

The Paramount Chief indicated that currently hosting prominent institution includes the seat of government, several state institutions, prominent businesses and historical sites, the Christianborg Castle Usher Fort including the German Embassy.

The ambassador, in his statement, reiterated that the visit would deepen the relations between the Osu Traditional Council and the German Embassy.

He expressed gratitude for the warm reception giving him and his entourage by the Paramount Chief and elders of the Osu Traditional Council adding that “his outfit will support the Traditional Council in its bid to provide quality education for the indigenes of Osu”.

According to the Ambassador, German government had invested a lot into Ghana’s economy due to the diplomatic relations which existed between the two countries for many years ago.

Mr Retzlaff said, due to the mutual agreements between the two countries the German government is taken key interest in investing into the country’s economy to improve in the living condition of the people.

The ambassador received a Kente cloth, Ahenema and other traditional ornaments from the Paramount Chief.
