As part of efforts to create jobs for the youth across the country, the National entrepreneurship innovation program (NEIP) has targeted over 150, 000 people and set the ball rolling to train over 120,000 youth from the various constituency in the country.

The training is expected to take place at the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District assemblies (MMDAs) as the national entrepreneurship innovation program (NEIP), seeks to tackle youth unemployment challenges.

The NEIP Project is a deliberate Job and Skills intervention that will train about 100,000 youth to provide them with lifelong Skills to enhance their employability and further ensure sustainable livelihood across the country.

In his address, the Chief Executive Officer of NEIP, Kofi Ofosu Nkansah made mention of the fact that, the NPP government flagship agency is to provide integrated support to startups and small businesses, NEIP believed in youth entrepreneurship.

“We are here again to unveil another impactful intervention from H.E Alhaji Dr. Mahamoud Bawumia – The Skills for Jobs project. Which is an expanded version of the vocational skills Programme H.E. the Vice President tasked us to give our kayayei Sisters under the Kayayei Empowerment Programme 5,000 women are being trained in various skills and he has instructed us to train an additional 100,000 youth across the Country in these skills areas.” Mr. Nkansah said.

He added that, NEIP would continue to use its resources and platforms to nurture the can-do spirit of budding entrepreneurs through its training programmers and interventions to deliver crucial support in the entrepreneurship space.

The programmed dubbed Skills For Jobs Project was launched in Accra digital center.

The NEIP program seeks to empower the youth of Ghana and reduce the high rate youth unemployment in the country.

NEIP is proposing the skills for job project to provide practical skills in some trade areas to help provide jobs for about one hundred and twenty thousand (120,000) youth and to help reduce rural-urban migration and as well as address the jobs and skills challenges faced by the youth of Ghana, especially in the rural and peri-urban areas.
