We Have No Powers To Dissolve Our Unit Committee – Kwahu Chief Declares

Nana Tenkorang Adaakwa III,chief of Kwahu Praso in the Kwahu south District of the eastern region has declared that they have no powers to dissolve the unit committee in the community.

He has also rubbished claims that he has control over the activities of unit committee in the District.

The Chief made these statements yesterday in reaction to some media publication on Hi fm,a local radio station at mpreaso, a suburb of  Kwahu South District that accused Nana Tenkorang Adaakwa lll and his head of family, Nana Kwabena Asomani  for allegedly disolving the five member unit committee of the area.

The allegation by some members of the residence, the chief described as false and should be treated with contempt it deserves.

Nana Tenkorang reiterated his commitment to work assiduously with all stakeholders to foster development for the people of Kwahu Praso.

The Kwahu Praso chief described the current unit committee as ineffective, lackadaisical and profligate in the management of funds.

The chief and his elders have further accused the members of the unit committee of consistent mismanagement of the community funds,  and their lackadaisical attitude and unwillingness to participate in the communal labour organised by the local people.

These prompted the residence to call on the District Chief Executive Hon. Emmanuel Atta Fori to forcibly reconstitute the membership of unit committee and other committees including the Water and Sanitation, and Funeral committees to help foster rapid development for the people of Kwahu Praso.

Present at the news conference were Nana Adjoa Konadu, Queen mother of Kwahu Praso, Janet Asieduwaa, Nana kyeame,Nana Obeng,wrempihene,Nana Kwame Asiedu,baamuhene and secretary to the stool Nana Ansomaa krontihene,

The rest were Nana Kwabena Asomani A.K.A KOO,Abusuapanin,Hon.Alex Kwakye,assembly member Praso no.2 and Nana Osei Ampadu Boating l Akwamuhene.
