NDC Elders Chides Prez Akufo Addo Over Election Violence-Ghanaiandemocrat.com

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Council of Elders at its first meeting since the 31st January election violence broke out chides the president Nana Akufo Addo for unleashing his mad dogs on innocent party supporters and voters.

According to them, the deadly actions by the NPP government and its vigilante groups would have only send the country back to the dark days.

A press statement released in Accra dated 4th Febuary, 2019 signed by the Vice Chairman of the Council of Elders, Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu expressed worry at the level at which government involves vigilante groups in the state securities.

The statement says the president has devalued the seat of government with his illogical sense of reasoning in ensuring the safety of Ghanaian populace.

It continued that the by-election violence has exposed widely the true nature of the president character urging him to try to live in a civilized society where context of ideals are espouse without the use of bullets.

The statement called on the president to work within his powers to restore peace in the country and bring back investor confidence.

They also advised the president to as a matter of urgency disband all NPP thugs adding that “the president must allow the established security services of the state to work”.

“The council of elders of the NDC therefore calls on the president Nana Akufo-Addo to rein in and disband the NPP thugs as a matter of extreme urgency and to do everything in his power to preserve peace in the nation”, the stated added.
