SEX IS AN OPTION, MENSTRUATION IS NOT; SANITARY PADS NEEDS TO BE FREE, NOT CONDOMS; NUGS PRESIDENT HOPEFUL, YIADOM BOAKYE EMMANUEL, MAKES A BOLD CALL

On 24th October, 2019, all aspirants for the National Union of Ghana Students‘ (NUGS) Presidential portfolio were vetted publicly to ascertain their missions and visions for office (policies outlined for their administration) for office.

Yiadom Boakye Emmanuel (YB), a lead candidate in the race outstandingly performed and made bold calls to shape the welfare of students in Ghana, especially females. He sympathizes with female students, especially those in schools in deprived areas.

He asserted that, sex is an option, but menstruation isn’t. Females do not have the option to choose whether or not to undergo menstruation.

Therefore, there is the need to embark on massive free distribution of sanitary pads too for school girls.

He promises to embark on a mass collection of sanitary pads which would be distributed to basic school girls in deprived areas. He affirmed that, to make sure all sectors of his administration work hand-in-hand and effectively, as a good leader as he is, he would achieve this initiative through the Secretary for Women Development.
